Deepen Insight Into Customer Buying Behavior
Airlines are adroit data-miners, optimizing their routes to get the most out of costly assets. And with frequent flyer programs, they now know more than ever about their customers, too: where, when, and how often you fly, even the foods you prefer. (Beef or chicken?) But what they haven’t known until now is what happens before and after your flights. Sourcebits imagined an app that would give airlines better insight into how their most loyal customers were experiencing the entire flight experience, from before they left for the airport to after they landed.
Designed to work with an existing frequent flier loyalty program, the app measures (with a user’s permission) everything from the length of the security line before boarding, to the length of time to get on board, to the distance and time between connecting flights. Rather than waiting to survey passengers about their flight experiences, the app allows the airline to proactively reach out to their most valuable customers, and make changes to check in and connection times before they become problems across the airline.
Users running late for flights or connections can even be tracked so the airline maximizes seats for standby and ensures that its best travelers are given the highest level of service.
