Mobile Alerts and Content Improve Patient Education and Compliance
When a patient leaves their doctor’s office, the doctor’s ability to monitor patient compliance drops off significantly as soon as the patient walks out the door. Patient education is typically limited to densely worded pamphlets or pre-printed packaging that most patients ignore once they’re home. There's simply no way of knowing whether patients follow through on their doctors' advice.
But imagine a way to address those concerns and improve patient care and compliance via a mobile application where doctors can deliver customized care information, compliance reminders, and check-ins tailored to their individual patients' needs.
A newly-diagnosed diabetic, for example, might get a regular reminder to check their blood sugar levels, as well as a daily slice of information to help manage their disease. Ongoing compliance would be checked with regular surveys that automatically alert the doctor if they’re not filled out—or if there are any red flags. The system would allow for a better standard of patient education and care, lower medical costs, and improved patient outcomes.
